The fixation of the room, the reason you look forward to coming home at night so surely the bed should be a majestic thing of beauty. After a long hard day at work all I want to do is flop down onto the bed hoping for the comforting bounce of a springy mattress and the soft hug of a well stuffed duvet. However even if this combination is achieved it can be ruined slightly by being attached to a boring or ugly bed.
I have found some great beds online and so this post will now turn into a homage towards 2 well designed beds.....
I’m not sure how many of you will have seen Russell Brand’s portrayal of ‘Arthur’ however the one saving grace of that film for me was his bed. You see he had a floating bed, something which since I saw that film I have vowed to achieve one day. Well maybe I could save myself some time and go for a stay at the One by the Five hotel in Paris. Needless to say not only does this bed look unbelievably comfortable, but the sheer brilliance of its design means it ticks all of the boxes for me.
This next bed is a somewhat juxtaposition. There are no theatrics involved here, no LED lit ceiling or fancy bed frame. This bed is simply breathtaking for its concept. Sleeping under the stars in Kenya in total seclusion gazing up whilst lying in a bed made from native wood that looks like it has been crafted expertly by local tribes. Although the One by Five bed ticked all the boxes for comfort and theatrics this blows it out of the water for sheer daring simplicity done so beautifully that it is impossible to look at it, even in a picture, and not wish that you were there right now. In my opinion there cannot be a better view to wake up to in the morning.
